Andy

The first time I was asked to take part in a 360 feedback
was about 2 years ago on my manager and we all knew that he wasn't keen but Hr said he had to do it.

In the end only 3 of us from his team of 7 took part which meant he could figure out who had said what.
I wasn't happy with that and he actually challenged me on what I had said afterwards.
It could have been a nightmare scenario but in the end he was Ok about it.

it turned out OK for me but with a different manager it could have been much worse. I think these 360's are a good idea if done carefully and with the right people.

If you do a 360 degree feedback then check with Hr and make sure that you can add your feedback in confidencemy advice is and watch how you write comments because your style might give you away.
